' Elephants Never Forget ' is a short film which explores the relationship between memory and space. It is based on a story about my Great Aunt, who suffered from Alzheimer’s, and her belief that she could simply walk back to her flat from the care home she was moved to. I considered that, even though she may not be able to carry her memories with her, do they live on inside her home? Inside the objects and mementos that are kept there? The composition of the video and the use of sound aim to make the viewer feel as if they are both experiencing and observing the memories along with her.
